Back to recipes- 6 small burger buns
- 300 g minced beef
- 250 g provola cheese
- Orco Burger Sauce with fried onion
- 2 large onions
- 2 tsp brown sugar
- Melted butter, as needed
- Parsley, as needed
- Extra virgin olive oil, as needed
- Paprika, as needed
- Oregano, as needed
- Salt, as needed
Resting them under a damp cloth is the step that makes the difference: the steam softens the crust and the buns turn out as fluffy as freshly baked.
Start with the caramelised onions: slice them thinly and put them in a pan with a drizzle of oil, the brown sugar, the oregano and a pinch of salt. Cook, stirring, until soft and glossy, then set aside.
In the same pan, brown the minced beef with a drizzle of oil, salt and paprika, breaking it up well with a wooden spoon. Set this aside too.
Halve the buns and arrange them in a baking dish. Fill each base with Orco Burger Sauce with fried onion, the beef, the caramelised onions and the provola; top with more sauce and a little extra cheese.
Close the buns, brush the tops with melted butter and bake at 200°C (400°F) for about 15 minutes. If the bread colours too quickly, cover it with foil.
As soon as they come out of the oven, brush them again with melted butter mixed with chopped parsley, cover with foil and a damp cloth, and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
